The music industry is full of grey areas. Especially when it comes to copyright, music publishing, and choosing a label. To shed some light on these issues, our Bruno Giraldo conducted a new InterMista with David Bonato, founder of Vrec Music Label and Davvero Comunicazione. Just over half an hour of dense conversation covering everything from how to choose a publisher to how to release a record without risks, through SIAE, Soundreef, and the famous “reaction game”.
David Bonato is no stranger to those who follow the independent scene. Born in Verona in 1975, he started in television, then moved to marketing, events, and press offices. In 2005 he founded Davvero Comunicazione, and in 2008 Vrec Music Label, a “hybrid” label born from a communication agency, capable of combining production with massive promotion. The interview tackles crucial topics: why choose a music publisher? How to navigate between SIAE and Soundreef? Label yes or no? Bonato answers with pragmatism and transparency.
