We sat down with Tori Sparks, the unstoppable American singer-songwriter who has made the road her home – averaging 150 shows a year across 24 countries, including prestigious festivals like the Montreux Jazz Festival and Jardins Pedralbes – to talk about her most ambitious project yet: Cabinet of Curiosities.
A Chicago native who honed her craft in Nashville, Tori Sparks now lives in Barcelona, where she has found new energy for her music – an explosive fusion of blues, rock, roots, and flamenco. After nearly a decade without a studio album, she returns with a work that defies categorization: 5 EPs, 21 original songs, 5 different sonic universes. From blues and gospel to folk, country noir, rock and soul, all the way to trip-hop and nu-jazz, each volume is a piece of a fascinating musical “cabinet of curiosities.”
